New update to the webpage and an Youtube channel

Hello everyone.

These are strange times we live in... Exhibtion have been cancelled but I think emotionally it has had a bigger impact on me. I'm lucky to have a great and supporting family but living in a different country has been hard.

But then it's important to find new ways to communicate and be creative! I was suppose to have an art exhbition together with http://www.mariagrudeus.se  during the Easter holiday art festival Konst på väg organized by Tierp kommun

but as many other culture events it got cancelled due to Covid-19.

Instead the art festival has been moved to the web. Several artists have created videos and here is my contribution. https://youtu.be/3LebtnvOiC0

I invite you to my home were I have my atelier and then I show you around my exhbition I have at Galleri Zeitgeist. I also highly recommend that you watch the other videos from the other artists participating in Konst på väg. All the videos can be found on Konst på vägs facebook page https://www.facebook.com/kpv.nu/

This so so far beyond my comfort zone as I am much more used to being on the other side of the camera and my Swedish is not that great😅
Kári Sveinbjörnsson (my other half) deserves great praise for recording, editing and fixing sound and music ... yes and that he had to endure all the whims and emotions of the artist!

Hope you all enjoy this.

Then I´ve also made an update to my webpage and added a new category for artworks that are for sale.

https://www.huldfineart.com/viewcollection/140047

All the prices are in Swedish Krona and to see it you need to click on more info when you view the photo.

But that´s all for now. Hope you are all staying save and at home.

Until next time,

Sigríður Huld

A New Website, a New Blog

Snapshot from my studio corner.

Hi everyone,

This will be my first blog post, but my plan is to write a blog on a fairly regular bases. This will just be a short one, some random information about myself and announcing my new and improved website, which I'm pretty excited about!

My name is Sigríður Huld Ingvarsdóttir. Due to my first name being rather common in Iceland I chose my middle name, Huld, to represent my art self. Huld means secret or hidden and is an old name which can be found in Norse mythology. My first name Sigríður which means battle beauty is also an old name and as I said before, pretty popular for my generation.

Iceland is one of the few (if maybe only) country that does not use family names. We are named after our parents, usually fathers, so my last name, Ingvarsdóttir, means that I am the daughter (dóttir) of Ingvar (name of my father) Men are sons so my brother last name is Ingvarsson.

I grew up on a farm in the north of Iceland and seek my inspiration from there. At the moment I'm obsessed with painting sheep skin (wool) and my next blog will be about those paintings so stay tuned.

My new website is now up and running and I hope it doesn't have too many flaws in it. I'm still making adjustments and figuring things out but with time I hope my website will be a good platform for me.
